Activity 4

Years have passed and only one thing remains constant, change. There came a time in the past where people used to say "hi" or "hello" or any other greetings that you can think of, to anyone that they meet in the streets, in the stores, and everywhere else. You can say that people at people like this are polite but in their time, this level of politeness is as normal as breathing. Ask the oldest people that you know about how polite the people were in their time and I'm sure that their answer will be something like "yeah".

Nowadays, people are all arrogant and busy. Only a few cares to say "hi" any more. When you walk at the streets or when you eat outside, you can see that less people only cares or shows kindness to others any more. Maybe its because of the increase in the population or maybe people just got tired in being polite and kind. Even in private schools where values and manners are well-practised and taught like everyday, you can see that students don't learn anything at all. You can see rude students and those that are disrespectful. Even children disrespects their parents and elders. The fact is that other people just love it when children do things that are unpleasant stuff to older people. People find this scene as entertaining and children are so innocent that they may start to think that what they are doing catches attention and we all know that children loves attention. When these children grow up, they will bring with them what they have learned while being a child and it's like an illness which keeps on getting worse.

In my opinion, I think that the idea of revolt against greater power caused this degradation of manners. This phenomena is rampant on highly developed countries and basing on that, I had the idea that the more dominant a person thinks of himself, the more disrespectful and rude a person is. I'm not saying that people should hold on to the idea that the world is developing in terms of technology, intelligence and mentality, we should focus less on manners but all I want to point out is that everything starts on what a child has seen and learned from people. Everybody should be a good example to children and teach them the proper way. I admit that most of everyone in my age are impolite and disrespectful but we are the ones who can stop the cycle by being good examples to children.

Hani's Inspirational Story

Today, money is in the top of list when it comes to everything. Whenever you need something or you want something to be done, money is the easiest answer. Though perseverance and diligence are on the list, they just ranked second or so. But there are people who succeeds through diligence and perseverance. A good example of that person is Hani. The fact that she is poor and discriminated by educated people, her will and desire to learn made her endure these things and still learned and was educated.

The most important thing that Hani lacks was money because she wasn't born with a silver spoon on her mouth. Being a native isn't a problem, but I can say that as natives, they should accept change like the need for education and accepting science and technology. This was what Hani did. She accepted change and worked hard for it. She was so courageous that she went to the professor to teach her how to speak in English in order to understand the language of the world. Her story sure is something to be of an inspiration specially in our country which is branded as a third world country.

I hope that people will use Hani as inspiration. What we need is progress and the ability to endure the things that we will go through in our way to success, not reasons that will not solve anything. Hani's courage and will to learn is something that people should imitate. We should believe in ourselves and never back down to challenges even if we think that it is unreachable.

My Sweeney Todd Experience

As what I have expected, Johnny Depp would play yet another weird character. From being Edward Scissor Hands to being Ichabod Crane in the movie Sleepy Hollows to being the psychotic killer and has an alter-ego Mort Rainey in the movie Secret Window and also being our favourite pirate, Captain Jack Sparrow, comes another amazing and unique role as Johnny Depp plays the character of Sweeney Todd, the demon barber who slits the throats of his costumers and makes meat cakes out of their flesh. Plus the addition of the weird lady who owns the bakery Mrs. Lovett, which was portrayed by Helena Carter, makes the movie more interesting and a bit disturbing.

Sweeney Todd was once an average barber married to a beautiful woman, had a beautiful child and lived a normal life until the mayor of the town wanted to separate Sweeney Todd and his wife because the mayor wants her for himself. When the mayor was successful in his plans, Sweeney Todd got separated from his family and he was sent to another place afterwards. That event pushed Sweeney Todd to return to his hometown and avenge his family. He then decided to go to Mrs. Loveen's place and made a barber shop there. This is the part where it gets interesting. Every costumer of Sweeney Todd never made it out of the barbershop alive because their throats were slit and they have some configurations on the chair which makes it drop the bodies to a hole directed to the underground of the building where they make their meat cakes. That's just the beginning of the movie but I'm not here to make a summary or something about the movie so I'll just end to that part.

My experience with the movie was really awesome because it was the first time that I enjoyed a movie like that, which was a musical, and didn't think of myself being gay in enjoying that. I enjoyed it more because I was with a girl who I always wanted to date for like a year or so. I guess this was the main reason why I enjoyed watching this film. And all the gore and stuff made her come closer to me and held my hand because it was too much to handle for her, I guess. So for the guys out there, I recommend you to watch gory films or horror rather than those romantic films with the hunky guys because girls would just talk about those guys and how they want to be the girl and how lucky the girl was because the guy was like this and that. That would like suck a lot, wouldn't it?

Now let's go back to my movie experience. The story is not really that clear and I wonder why no one looked for the guys who were "meat caked". But even though the movie's story is not that awesome, Johnny Depp, who is one of my favourite actors, portrayed Sweeney Todd so I liked it overall. The movie is really fun to watch and I recommend this movie to everyone, specially to guys who's like to spend some time with a girl and no need to add more details. **laughs**

My Life's Mission

I want to be a billionaire, so freaking bad. But this blog is not about what I want, it's about what i must do and my life's mission. I really don't have fancy thoughts about this topic, like being the person to cure cancer, or create an ideology that will make people truly understand one another and put an end to wars and things like that. I just think that people are made for each other and I, as a person is made for other people. One mission that I can think of is making my parents happy and proud of what they have made. I thank them for making me and for taking care of me even if I do not take care of them like the way they took care of me. I understand that nothing in this world is perfect so i came to think that i cannot do the things that that they did for me. I'll just repay them with my own version of love and hope that the things that I do will make them proud. Another mission or goal that I can think of is to make a change in people's lives(this is not one of those fancy ideals and goals). I really don't have a single clue on how to do that but I think I will find my answers in time**laughs**. Another thing that I can think of is being a good person to anyone. A good friend, a good neighbor, a good classmate, a good student, a good relative and a good son to my parents. I don't really know what good is to everybody. Maybe for them, being good is by paying their bills and doing stuff for them but sorry folks, I have my own definition for that word. One last mission that I can think of is simple and is very common but only a few only find it fulfilling. It is to find a partner in life. It is not a mission that I pursue at the moment but I think I'm on my way to these sorts of stuff. Maybe after finishing school and finishing my terms as an immature person.**laughs**
